The European Jewish Association and the Rabbinical Centre of Europe are delighted to announce a brand new project that we are rolling out across Europe, directly helping the sick and needy with the often expensive costs associated with securing much needed medical equipment.
Our brand new medical equipment lending centre means that the sick and immobile needn’t worry about buying wheelchairs, or expensive crutches walkers and the like.
We will provide them to communities on a need-by-need basis at no cost. When recuperation is over, the items simply get returned to the local community lending branch centre and passed to the next person that needs them.
This simple, effective project overseen by us but run at branch level by communities is open to everyone, but supplies are limited.

Free speech is free speech. And antisemitism is antisemitism. Some people want to blur these lines. We warned the governor of Antwerp of this when a cultural centre there wanted to ban a Jewish school event because of the war in Gaza.
When we met the governor last week she promised a robust response of legal safeguards and action. We therefore welcome the publication of an unambiguous set of legal instruments to punish those that seek to target Jews. Thank you governor.
On May 6th, the Jewish Community of Barcelona (CIB.CAT) solemnly observed the Central Act commemorating Holocaust and Heroism Day 2024, an event of profound significance that will be etched into the annals of our community’s history.
On this day dedicated to the remembrance of the victims and heroes of the Holocaust, we pay tribute to those who lost their lives, to the courageous who resisted, and to those who, amidst the deepest darkness and cruelty, demonstrated unwavering courage by providing aid.
It is noteworthy that this historic event saw the participation of 220 individuals, who came together to reflect and honor the memory of those who suffered and fought during one of humanity’s darkest periods.
The event featured a cast comprised of young members of the community, from the youth movement YAJAD of the CIB, students from Colegio Hatikva, the organization BBYO, and the youth movement TZOFIM, all under the leadership of coordinators and directors from the CIB and Colegio Hatikva.
