Georgios Papadakis

Managing Director

Georgios (Jorgos) Papadakis has been the EJA Managing Director since January 2023. Prior to it, he served as Deputy Director of the World Savings and Retails Banking Institute – European Savings & Retail Banking Group (WSBI-ESBG) and as Marketing & Communication Director of the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA). He was also active for 5 years as Head of Communications for the European Free Alliance-European Political Party in the European Parliament. 

His various assignments include managerial positions at UNDP, PR agencies and private corporations in Greece and the Balkans. He was also the Executive Director of the Balkan Youth Foundation, a regional non-governmental organization focusing on youth empowerment through social investment in the region of South East Europe.
He has worked for various national, regional and European media outlets, including the BBC and the Austrian Press Agency, being also a founding member of the South East Europe Media Organization (SEEMO). 

He is an Extraordinary Fellow at the University of Vienna (Institute for Communication Science) and also holds a degree in Print Media from the London School of Journalism as well as a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens
