Yesterday (16.10) , we hosted a very special press briefing in our office to mark the official day of commemoration for October 7th. We were honoured to welcome Dr. Cohav Elkayam Levy and Adv. Merav Israeli-Amarant, the founder and co-founder of the Civil Commission on October 7th Crimes by Hamas Against Women and Children.
These two courageous women made the difficult decision immediately after October 7th that the atrocities must be documented and researched. Over the past two years, they have worked tirelessly to collect thousands of videos, testimonies, and pictures from that day.
A few months ago, after a long and meticulous process, they issued a report of international significance, identifying a specific crime of terrorism directed at family units. The report not only demonstrates how the terrorists deliberately targeted families in Israel on October 7th, but also shows that similar forms of terror have tragically occurred in other parts of the world, further highlighting the intentional nature of these attacks.
Dr. Elkayam Levy and Adv. Israeli-Amarant came to Brussels to urge the EU to recognize their report and to officially acknowledge this particular crime against families.
