It is important to protect our humanist values (respect, non-discrimination), in the context of the rise of anti-semitism. What is at stake, when a society is no longer able to protect one of its minorities, is all our democratic values. The resurgence of anti-semitism is a warning sign that reveals a deep dysfunction in a society and that precedes, if it is not quickly recognized and ceased, the advent of extremism and fundamentalism of all kinds.
