Last night the EJA and its partners, along with an intimate gathering Ambassadors, Diplomatic Staff, MEPs and representatives from NGO’s met for a screening of selected clips from Holocaust related movies, followed by a panel discussion and audience q&a on how best to keep the lessons and memory of the Holocaust alive and relevant to today’s fast changing and immediate media and political environment.

Our guests were Holocaust survivor Regina Sochowolski-Sluzny the President of the Flemish Jewish Forum whose personal testimony of how her and her family went into hiding helped by nieghbours was deeply moving, Robin Sclafani, the Director, of a Jewish contribution to an inclusive Europe (CEJI) whose work deals specifically with dialogue and keeping jewish matters relevant to today’s world and lastly, but by no means least Pascale Falek-Alhadeff – Director of Jewish Museum, Brussels, whose radical and groundbreaking approach to curation has made the Jewish Museum an inovative and forward thinking space for culture, art, artefacts and education.

The conversation and audience interventions were enlightening and we plan to role this pilot project out to a wider audience in the weeks ahead.
